This carrier seal upgrade for Mercury 3.0L/3.2L EFI/DFI Outboard gearcases. This is a direct replacement for factory part number 840836A2. The factory seal 840836A2 is known to fail and allow water into the gearcase where this improved design of four seals, allowes for this seal system to keep the water out even under the hottest conditions.
 
The seal housing is made from machined billett aluminum and uses four factory merucry drive shaft seals stacked to keep gear lube in and water out. The seals are able to be replaced at a future date and all parts are readily availble.
 
The motor and applications for this seal are wide as they cover most 200hp-300hp Mercury EFI/DFI models in the serial number ranges from 0T232400 - 2B535608. It is very important that you check your lowerunit driveshaft application as this part will only replace the carrier seal 840836A2. If your motor calls for a different seal number please double check as this will not work for your application.
